Ingredients

1 lb (500 g) lean ground beef
1 pkg Old El Paso* Hard and Soft Taco Kit
4 oz (125 g) Canadian cream or Cheddar cheese, cubed
4 green onions, chopped
6 slices bacon, cooked & crumbled
1 tomato, chopped
your favourite toppings (shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes)

Instructions

  • 1 Brown beef in skillet over medium-high heat; drain.
  • 2 Add taco seasoning mix, and 3/4 cup (175 mL) water. Cook over medium-low heat for 10 minutes until thickened, stirring occasionally.
  • 3 Gently stir in cheese, onion and bacon, until cheese just starts to melt. Stir in tomatoes.
  • 4 Heat the taco shells according to package directions.
  • 5 Spoon filling into heated shells and top with taco sauce and toppings.

Tip: Fried mushrooms would be a wonderful addition to this cheesy family favourite.
