Ingredients

  • 1 pkg (510 g) Betty Crocker* SuperMoist* Carrot Cake Mix
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL) water
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup (175 mL) raisins
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) chopped nuts
  • 1 tub (340 g) Betty Crocker* Whipped Cream Cheese Frosting

    Heat oven to 350°F or 325°F for dark or nonstick pan. Lightly grease or spray with non-stick cooking spraybottom and sides of 15x10x1-inch (37.5x25x2.5 cm) baking pan with edges (jelly roll pan).

    In large bowl, mix cake mix, oil, water and eggs with spoon. Stir in raisins and nuts. Spread evenly in pan.

    Bake 18 to 24 minutes (25 to 29 minutes for dark or nonstick pan) or until bars spring back when touched lightly in centre. Cool completely, about 1 hour.

    Spread with frosting. For bars, cut into 8 rows by 6 rows. Store loosely covered.

    Use orange juice instead of water to give these bars a nice flavour boost. Sprinkle chopped nuts over frosted bars.
