White Wine Sangria

I much prefer white wine to red wine, so if I'm going to make a pitcher of sangria for guests, I make a white wine sangria.

I live in the wine country area of B.C., with a number of award-winning wineries right in my small town. My husband and I like to go on wine tours with friends, or just the two of us. I much prefer white wine to red wine, so if I'm going to make a pitcher of sangria for guests, I make a white wine sangria.

Here's my recipe!

Ingredients:

1 Bottle of white wine
1/3 cup white sugar
2 oranges (sliced)
1 lemon (sliced)
1 lime (sliced)
2 oz. brandy or rum (optional)
1/2 liter of Sprite or club soda (I like Sprite, because it's sweeter)
Any other berries that you have on hand (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, etc.

Preparation:

Pour wine in the pitcher and sugar. Toss in the fruit slices and berries. Chill overnight. Add Sprite or club soda just before serving.

If you plan on serving it right away, use chilled wine and serve over lots of ice.

Enjoy!
