Candied Apple Cinnamon Bread

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup (50 mL) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup (250 mL) sugar
  • 1 can ( 5 rolls) Pillsbury* Grands* Cinnamon Rolls with Icing
  • 4 medium (or 3 large) apples, peeled and cut into thin wedges
  • Whipped Cream or Ice Cream (optional)

Steps

    Heat oven to 350oF. Place 6, 1/2 cup (125 mL) oven-proof ramekins or custard cups on a baking sheet.

    In a medium saucepan, melt butter and sugar together. Add apple wedges; cook and stir over medium-high heat about 7 minutes, until softened.

    Remove from heat. When mixture is slightly cooled, place an equal amount in the bottom of each ramekin.

    Cut each cinnamon roll into 5 or 6 pieces and randomly place on top of the apple mixture.

    Bake at 350°F for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.

    Run a knife around edge of each ramekin and turn out upside-down onto a serving plate or serve as is in the ramekin.

    Drizzle with icing and serve with dollop of whipped cream or ice cream, if desired.
