Cherry-Topped Brownie Dessert Squares

Luscious fudge brownies, cream cheese frosting filling and cherry topping add up to a sinfully delicious dessert!

Ingredients

  • 2 pkgs Betty Crocker* Chocolate Chunk Supreme Brownie Mix
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) oil
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) water
  • 2 eggs

  • 2 pkgs (250 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tub Betty Crocker* Creamy Deluxe* French Vanilla Frosting
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) almond extract

  • 1 can (540 mL) cherry pie filling, chilled

Steps

    Heat oven to 350ºF. Grease bottom only of 13x9-inch pan with shortening. In large bowl, stir brownie ingredients until well blended with spoon. Spread in pan.

    Bake 28 to 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted 2 inches from side of pan comes out almost clean. Cool completely, about 30 minutes.

    In large bowl, beat filling ingredients until smooth. Spread over cooled brownies. Cover; refrigerate at least 2 hours or until set.

    To serve, spoon pie filling over top. Cut into squares.
