  • 2 cups (500 mL) Bisquick™ mix
  • 2/3 cup orange juice
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) orange extract or 2 tsp (10 mL) orange zest
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) cocoa
  • 1/3 cup (75 mL) milk chocolate chunks (or broken up chocolate bar)
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL) chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) diced marzipan
  • 1 cup (250 mL) Betty Crocker™ Creamy Deluxe™ Chocolate Frosting
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) orange juice

    Heat oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease 9 regular-sized muffin cups (a small parchment circle at the bottom of each muffin cup makes removal very easy).

    In medium bowl, combine Bisquick, orange juice and orange extract or zest. Divide mixture in two and place the half into another medium bowl; set aside.

    To the first half, stir in cocoa, chocolate chunks and chopped walnuts. To the second half, stir in diced marzipan.

    In a small bowl, combine frosting and 1 tbsp orange juice.

    Into each muffin cup, place a spoonful of the chocolate dough mixture, followed by a spoonful of the mixture with marzipan, alternating between the two until all the dough is divided amongst the 9 cups. Create a hollow in the middle of each and spoon 1 tsp of chocolate-orange frosting into it.

    Bake for 15 to 18 minutes. Add additional frosting in the middle of each before serving. Serve while warm.
