Ingredients

  • 3 cups Greek plain yogurt
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup limoncello liqueur
  • 2 lemons or oranges (large enough that half will hold a scoop of frozen yogurt)
  • Citrus

Steps

  •
    1
Mix together the yogurt and sugar. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Refrigerate 1 hour.
  •
    2
Freeze in your ice cream maker according to the manufacturer's instructions. Remove from machine and add limoncello and frozen yogurt into a blender and blend.
  •
    3
Pour mixture into a freezer friendly plastic container and freeze for at least 4 hours.
  •
    4
To make the Citrus Cups: Cut the citrus (in this case a lemon) in half. Use a knife to cut around the edges to help loosen the membrane.
  •
    5
Scoop out the insides with a spoon. You can use your fingers to remove any membrane.
  •
    6
Slice the bottom of the citrus so that it will sit flat.
  •
    7
Remove frozen yogurt and scoop into prepared citrus cups and place back into freezer for 2 hours. Please note the frozen yogurt will be soft due to the alcohol.
  •
    8
Top with citrus zest for garnish.
