Here's an easy, make-ahead fruit salad that doubles as a light, refreshing dessert. It'll add sparkle to any occasion! ...MORE + LESS -

Ingredients

1/4 cup (50 mL) sugar
1 tsp (5 mL) grated orange peel
1 cup (250 mL) fresh orange juice
1 large orange, peeled, cut into bite-size pieces
1 large red apple, cut into bite-size pieces
1 large pear, cut into bite-size pieces
1 cup (250 mL) seedless green grapes
1 large banana, sliced
1 1/2 cups (375 mL) champagne or sparkling white grape juice

    In large bowl, stir sugar, orange peel and orange juice until sugar is dissolved. Gently stir in orange, apple, pear and grapes until coated. Cover; refrigerate at least 1 hour or overnight.

    Just before serving, stir in banana and champagne. Spoon about 3/4 cup fruit with juice into each of 8 footed dessert cups.
