Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp (45 mL) butter or margarine
  • 3 cups (750 mL) miniature marshmallows
  • 3 drops red food colouring
  • 2 drops yellow food colouring
  • 5 cups (1.25 L) CHEERIOS* cereal
  • raisins, assorted gumdrops, candy-coated chocolate candies, licorice

    Place sheet of waxed paper on baking sheet.

    In 2-quart (2 L) saucepan, heat butter and marshmallows over low heat, stirring constantly, until melted and smooth.

    Remove from heat. Stir in both food colours until mixture is an even orange colour. Stir in cereal until evenly coated.

    Lightly spray hands with non-stick spray. For each pumpkin, shape about 1 cup (250 mL) cereal mixture into ball.

    Decorate with candies, licorice & raisins as desired. Place on wax paper to cool.

    Cool completely, about 15 minutes.
