Tastiest Turkey Meat Loaf

Meat loaf is great comfort food, and this version is lower in fat and very flavourful. The addition of yogurt makes it really moist.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 lb (625 g) ground turkey breast
  • 3/4 cup (175 mL) Yoplait® Source or Creamy Plain Yogurt
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL) ketchup
  • 3/4 cup Italian style or plain bread crumbs
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) Worcestershire sauce
  • 3/4 tsp (3 mL) salt
  • 1/4 tsp (1 mL) ground sage
  • 1/4 tsp (1 mL) pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped, or 1/4 tsp (1 mL) garlic powder
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 egg slightly beaten

  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) ketchup
  • 1/2 tsp (2 mL) ground mustard
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) packed brown sugar

Steps

    Heat oven to 375ºF. In large bowl, mix meat loaf ingredients. Spread mixture in ungreased 8x4- or 9x5-inch loaf pan, or shape into 9x5-inch loaf in ungreased 13x9-inch pan.

    In small bowl, mix topping ingredients; spread over top.

    Bake uncovered 1 hour to 1 hour 10 minutes or until meat thermometer inserted in center of loaf reads 170ºF. Let stand 5 minutes; drain. Remove from pan.
