Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) uncooked wild rice
  • 3 tbsp (45 mL) butter or vegetable oil
  • 2 medium stalks celery, sliced (1 cup/250 mL)
  • 1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup/125 mL)
  • 3 cups (750 mL) sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) sugar
  • 1/4 tsp (1 mL) pepper
  • 3 cups (750 mL) chicken broth
  • 3/4 cup (175 mL) chopped cooked ham or chicken
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup Yoplait® Source® or Creamy plain yogurt

Steps

    Cook wild rice as directed on package.
  • 2
    Meanwhile, in 3-quart saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add celery, onion and mushrooms; cook about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until crisp-tender.

    Stir in flour, sugar and pepper. Stir in cooked wild rice, broth, ham and Worcestershire sauce; cover and simmer 10 minutes over medium heat. Stir in yogurt; heat just until hot (do not boil).
