  • 1 Old El Paso* Stand 'n Stuff* Taco Kit
  • 1 can (14 oz/398 mL) tomato sauce
  • 1 to 2 chipotle chilies in adobo sauce (from can), finely chopped (optional)
  • 4 cups (1 L) cooked turkey or chicken, cut into chunks or strips
  • Your favourite toppings, such as shredded lettuce and cheese, chopped tomatoes, sour cream

    In large skillet or saucepan, combine taco sauce and seasoning mix (from kit), tomato sauce and chilies (if using).

    Stir in turkey; heat to boiling.  Reduce heat to medium and simmer uncovered about 20 to 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until most of liquid is absorbed.

    Meanwhile, heat taco shells as directed on box.  Spoon some turkey mixture into each taco shell.  Top as desired and enjoy!

Expert Tips

  • Tip 1
    Tip: The chipotle chilies in adobo sauce are readily available in grocery stores.  They add a delicious smoky flavour, but the recipe is delicious without them too.
