Ingredients

  • 1 can (17.5 oz) Pillsbury™ Grands!™ refrigerated cinnamon rolls
  • 2 Granny Smith apples, 1 gala apple (or other sweet apple), cored and sliced into 1/4 inch pieces
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 4 tbsp chilled butter
  • 1 egg, beaten

Steps

  • 1
Heat oven to 350°F. Grease or spray 8- or 9-inch round pan and line with parchment paper.
  • 2
Toss apple slices with lemon juice.
  • 3
Place apples, brown sugar, water, and cinnamon into a skillet and cook for 8 minutes, until liquid reduces.
  • 4
Cool apple mixture to room temperature.
  • 5
    Separate the cinnamon rolls.
  • 6
On a floured surface, roll out the cinnamon rolls until 1/2 inch - 3/4 inch thick
  • 7
Spread cooled apple mixture in the middle of each cinnamon roll.
  • 8
Wrap the dough around the apple mixture and fold the sides up.
  • 9
Transfer the cinnamon rolls (brioches) to the prepared baking sheet.
  • 10
Make topping by combining sugar and flour until blended. Cut in cold butter with a food processor until coarse crumbs are formed.
  • 11
    Brush dough with beaten egg.
  • 12
Sprinkle topping on top of each cinnamon roll.
  • 13
Bake 25 to 29 minutes or until golden brown.
  • 14
Heat up icing on low in the microwave for 30 seconds or in a new skillet for 1 minute.
  • 15
Drizzle brioches with icing; serve warm.
