Cinnamon Raisin Chex Snack Mix

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup (50 mL) sugar
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL) butter or margarine
  • 4 1/2 cups (1.125 L) Rice Chex* Cereal
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) raisins, dried cranberries or dried cherries

    In small bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon; set aside.

    In large microwavable bowl, microwave butter uncovered on High about 40 seconds or until melted. Stir in cereal until evenly coated. Microwave uncovered 2 minutes, stirring after 1 minute.

    Sprinkle half of the sugar mixture evenly over cereals; stir. Sprinkle with remaining sugar mixture; stir. Microwave uncovered 1 minute. Stir in raisins. Spread on paper towels to cool.

  • Special Touch: Scoop portions of this tasty snack mix into small plastic bags and wrap with colourful ribbons, then have on hand to tuck into lunches.
