Welcome family to the dinner table with a first cousin to Taco Salad. Thank Hamburger Helper* dinner mix for making it easy.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (500 g) lean ground beef
  • 3 1/2 cups (875 mL) hot water
  • 1 box Hamburger Helper* Beef Noodle
  • 1 large garlic clove, finely chopped
  • 1 small head lettuce, shredded
  • 1 medium green pepper, cut into 2-inch strips
  • 1 medium red onion, sliced
  • 1 cup (250 mL) cherry tomatoes, cut in half
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) Italian dressing
  • 1/2 tsp (2 mL) Italian seasoning

Steps

    Cook beef in large skillet over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until brown; drain.

    Stir in hot water, uncooked Pasta, Sauce Mix and garlic. Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally.

    Reduce heat; cover and simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Uncover; simmer 5 minutes longer. Cool 5 minutes.

    Mix remaining ingredients in large bowl. Add beef mixture; toss. Serve immediately.

Expert Tips

  • Tip 1
    Do-Ahead Tip : Cut up the bell pepper, onion and tomatoes the night before serving. Store in separate plastic bags, tightly sealed, in the fridge.
  • Tip 2
    Substitution : Bell peppers come in many colors. Yellow, red and orange are a bit sweeter than green or purple but work well in this great salad.
