Ingredients

  • 8 cups (2 L) Rice Chex* Cereal
  • 2 cups (500 mL) bite-size cheese crackers
  • 1 cup (250 mL) bite-size pretzel twists
  • 6 tbsp (90 mL) butter or margarine
  • 3 tbsp (45 mL) steak sauce
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) ground red pepper (cayenne)
  • 1 cup (250 mL) French-fried onions
  • 1 cup (250 mL) salted peanuts
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) onion powder
  • 2 tsp (10 mL) garlic powder

    In large microwaveable bowl, mix cereals, crackers and pretzels.

    In 2-cup microwaveable measuring cup, microwave butter on high about 40 seconds or until melted. Stir in steak sauce, Worcestershire sauce and pepper. Pour over cereal mixture; stir until evenly coated.

    Microwave uncovered on High 4 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes. Stir in onions and peanuts. Sprinkle with onion and garlic powders; toss until evenly coated. Spread on waxed paper or foil to cool. Store in airtight container.
