whole wheat-granola waffles
2 cups (500 mL) Bisquick* Mix
1/2 cup (125 mL) whole wheat flour
1/2 cup (125 mL) granola
1 1/2 cups (375 mL) milk
2 tbsp (25 mL) packed brown sugar
2 tbsp (25 mL) vegetable oil
1 1/2 cups (375 mL) mixed fresh berries (raspberries, blueberries, sliced strawberries)
3/4 cup (175 mL) maple-flavoured syrup
Heat waffle maker. (Waffle makers without a nonstick coating may need to be brushed with vegetable oil or sprayed with nonstick cooking spray.) In medium bowl, stir all ingredients except berries and syrup with wire whisk or fork until blended.
For each waffle, pour batter onto centre of hot waffle maker. (Check manufacturer's directions for recommended amount of batter.) Close lid of waffle maker. Bake 3 to 5 minutes or until steaming stops. Carefully remove waffle.
Serve waffles with berries and syrup.
: For a breakfast they'll remember, arrange the berries on your child's waffle to form a face.
