Fresh Italian Lasagna

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (500 g) lean ground beef
  • 3 3/4 cups (925 mL) hot water
  • 1 pkg Hamburger Helper* Lasagna
  • 2 tomatoes, coarsely chopped
  • 3/4 cup (175 mL) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Chopped fresh basil

Steps

    In large nonstick skillet, cook beef over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until thoroughly cooked; drain.

    Stir in hot water, Sauce Mix and uncooked Pasta. Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally.

    Reduce heat, cover and simmer about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender.  Stir in tomatoes and cook for 2 minutes longer.

    Remove from heat and uncover; stir in mozzarella cheese and sprinkle with fresh basil.  Let stand 5 minutes to allow sauce to thicken.
