The classic party mix you love gets a spicy makeover with a splash of red pepper sauce.

Ingredients

  • 6 tbsp (90 mL) butter or margarine
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp (7 mL) seasoned salt
  • 2 to 3 tsp (10 to 15 mL) red pepper sauce
  • 9 cups (2.25 L) Rice Chex* Cereal
  • 1 cup (250 mL) mixed nuts
  • 1 cup (250 mL) bite-size pretzels
  • 1 cup (250 mL) garlic-flavour bite-size bagel chips, or regular-size bagel chips, broken into 1-inch/2.5 cm pieces

    Heat oven to 250ºF.

    In ungreased large roasting pan, melt butter in oven. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt and pepper sauce. Gradually stir in remaining ingredients until evenly coated.

    Bake uncovered 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Spread on paper towels to cool, about 15 minutes. Store in airtight container.

  • Make Ahead: For a jump start on your party preparations, make the snack mix up to 2 weeks ahead of time and then store it tightly covered at room temperature.
