2 cups (500 mL) Rice Chex* cereal
2 cups (500 mL) Cheerios* cereal
2 cups (500 mL) pretzels
1 cup (250 mL) peanuts
1/4 cup (50 mL) butter or margarine, melted
1 tbsp (15 mL) Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp (5 mL) paprika
1/2 tsp (2 mL) garlic salt
In large microwavable bowl, mix cereals, pretzels and peanuts.
In 2-cup microwavable measuring cup, microwave butter on High about 40 seconds or until melted. Stir in remaining ingredients. Pour over cereal mixture; stir until evenly coated.
Microwave uncovered on High 4 to 5 minutes, stirring every 2 minutes, until mixture just begins to brown. Spread on paper towels to cool. Store in airtight container.
Special Touch:For easy eating at a cocktail party, serve this snack mix in colourful paper cones. Make the cones by rolling 7-inch squares of medium-weight coloured paper into cone shapes and securing with tape. To keep the cones upright, spread a layer of uncooked dried beans in the bottom of the serving container, then nestle the filled paper cones in the beans.
