Slow Cooker Teriyaki Chicken Wings

Chicken wings made easy by using a delicious marinade and the help of your slow cooker!

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup (175 mL) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) garlic powder
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) ground ginger
  • 1 cup (250 mL) soy sauce
  • 3/4 cup (175 mL) water
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL) pineapple juice
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL) vegetable oil
  • 4 lbs (2 kg) chicken wings, tips removed (about 24 wings)

Steps

    In very large bowl, mix all ingredients except chicken wings. Add chicken; toss gently to coat. Refrigerate at least 2 hours to marinate.

    Remove chicken from marinade; place in 4- to 6-quart slow cooker. Add about 1 cup of the marinade; discard any remaining marinade.

    Cover; cook on High heat setting 4 to 5 hours or until juice of chicken is clear when thickest part is cut to bone (180ºF.).

  • Tip 1
    Tip : For an extra-sticky wing, remove from slow cooker after cooked and put under broiler for a couple of minutes.
