Ingredients

3/4 lb (375 g) bacon, crisply cooked and crumbled
1 cup chopped peeled apple
1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese (4 oz)
1/2 cup chopped white onion
3 tablespoons chopped fresh sage leaves
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup Original Bisquick™ mix
1/2 cup milk
2 eggs

    Heat oven to 350°F. Lightly spray 12 regular-size muffin cups with cooking spray.

    In large bowl, stir together bacon, apple, cheese, onion, sage and salt. In medium bowl, stir together Bisquick®™ mix, milk and eggs with fork until well blended.

    Spoon slightly less than 1 tablespoonful Bisquick™ mixture into bottom of each muffin cup. Top each with about 1/4 cup bacon mixture. Top with remaining Bisquick®™ mixture.

    Bake 20 to 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in centre comes out clean and edges are golden. Cool 5 minutes in pan; transfer to cooling rack to cool slightly before serving.

Expert Tips

  • Use whatever apple you prefer for a tarter flavour use Honeycrisp or Pink Lady. For added sweetness, go for Gala or Red Delicious.
  • The pies can be covered and refrigerated up to 24 hours before baking. Just be sure to bake them a few minutes longer, as they’ll be cold when they go into the oven.
