Bulgogi Burgers

Mini burger patties loaded with Korean flavours and topped with kimchi.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons gochujang
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 5 scallions, chopped
  • 5 cloves garlic, grated
  • 2 tablespoons grated ginger
  • 2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 lb (750 g) ground beef
  • 12 mini burger/slider buns
  • 1 ¾ cups kimchi

Steps

    Add all ingredients except beef, buns and kimchi to a small bowl and combine to form a paste. Mix the paste with the ground beef to season it. Use immediately, or cover and refrigerate beef 1-2 days to allow flavours to meld.

    Form the meat into 14 evenly sized, thin burger patties and grill 5-7 minutes per side to medium well (or longer if you prefer).

    Serve patties on the burger buns, and top with kimchi.
