Ingredients

  • 1 lb (500 g) uncooked spaghetti

  • 1/4 cup butter, cut into fourths
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil leaves
  • 2 cups whole milk ricotta cheese

  • 3 cups (700 mL) tomato basil pasta sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

    6. Bake uncovered 30 to 40 minutes or until cheese is melted and lightly brown. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.

Expert Tips

  • Tip 1
Bulk pork sausage is the raw meat that hasn’t been stuffed into the casing. If you can’t find it, you can buy raw sausages, slit the casing with a knife and remove the meat.
  • Tip 2
Italian sausage can be purchased as sweet or hot; either can be used in this recipe.
  • Tip 3
In place of the Italian sausage, you can use ground beef.
