Smothered Pork Chops with Pasta

Smothered in a creamy sauce with mushrooms, these pork chops and pasta made with Signature Skillets* by Hamburger Helper* will be a winner in your family!

  • 5 pork loin chops, 1/2 inch (1.25 cm) thick (4 oz/125 g each)
  • 2 tsp (10 mL) vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) chopped onion
  • 3 cups (750 mL) sliced mushrooms
  • 1 3/4 cups (425 mL) milk
  • 1 box Signature Skillets* by Hamburger Helper* - Creamy Stroganoff
  • Fresh parsley, if desired

    Heat 12-inch nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Add pork chops; cook about 2 minutes on each side or until slightly browned. Remove pork chops from skillet; set aside.

    Reduce heat to medium. In same skillet, heat oil until hot. Add onion and mushrooms; cook 3 minutes, stirring frequently. Stir in milk and seasoning mix (from Signature Skillets* box). Heat to boiling. Return pork chops to skillet; spoon some of the sauce over pork. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 9 to 11 minutes, stirring and turning pork chops occasionally, until pork is no longer pink in centre.

    Meanwhile, in 2-quart saucepan two-thirds full of boiling water, add uncooked pasta (from Signature Skillets* box). Return to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer uncovered about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender. Drain; cover to keep warm.

    Stir cream sauce (from Signature Skillets* box) into mixture in skillet. Cook, stirring constantly, just until hot. Serve pork chops and sauce mixture over pasta. Garnish with parsley.

    Serve with:  steamed broccoli or green beans for a complete dinner.

  • Tip 2
    Substitution: Bone-in pork chops can be used in place of boneless pork chops. Allow a few minutes of extra cooking time for bone-in chops.
