Apple Cinnamon Crisp

If serving as a dessert, be sure to serve this wonderful fruit crisp, warm from the oven, with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups (1 L) peeled and sliced apples
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) quick-cooking or old-fashioned oats
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL) packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 tsp (3 mL) cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL) firm butter or margarine
  • 2 cups (500 mL) Apple Cinnamon CHEERIOS* cereal

Steps

    Heat oven to 350°F (180°C). Arrange fruit in ungreased 8 or 9-inch (20 or 23 cm) square baking dish.

    Stir together oats, brown sugar and cinnamon in medium bowl; cut in butter with pastry blender or fork until crumbly. Stir in cereal; sprinkle over apples.

    Bake uncovered 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm. Store any remaining dessert covered in refrigerator.

  • Tip: Go ahead, leave the peel on the apples. It's easier; and healthier, too!
